I have such a gorgeous wedding on the blog today, if you love rustic details, with a hint of Disney, complete with a stunning princess dress, then you are going to just adore Danielle and Jon’s Wedding. They are such a lovely couple and it was a total pleasure to capture their day.
After a romantic surprise Valentine’s Day proposal, Danielle & Jon, who have been together 10 years, were married on March 11th 2017 at elegant venue ‘The Belfry’ in Birmingham. Disney fanatic Danielle had delicately weaved a subtle hint of ‘Beauty and the Beast’ throughout the day along with pretty rustic peach shades. With floaty peach chiffon bridesmaids dresses, flowers in her
hair, lovely bouquets and a divine soft peach tiered and ombre cake, completing the look.
Danielle and Jon’s wedding day was such a pretty affair with a real wow factor. One of the most beautiful moments of the day was when
Jon surprised Danielle with a full choir in the middle of his speech! There was not a dry eye in the room as The Birmingham Rock School made their entrance to sing ‘Just The Way You Are’ by Bruno Mars. Just such a beautiful thing to do.
Let me hand over now to Danielle to tell you more about their day;
We’d chosen a peach rustic theme for the day, but also a subtle ‘Beauty and the Beast’ theme. I walked down the aisle to ‘Tale As Old As Time’ played by our harpist Audrey Douglas, we had large candelabras as our centre pieces and Ed Sheeran ‘Tenerife Sea’ as our first dance. Ed Sheeran is the voice of Lumiere in the new film.
We decorated the venue ourselves with inspiration from Pinterest boards, searching the internet and purchasing some items a year in advance but it was all worth it! Simply, it was the best day of our lives.
Danielle went dress shopping with her mum and found her gorgeous Mori Lee dress, in the very first boutique they went to;
‘We visited Brides of Solihull in Birmingham and as I have always known I wanted a ‘princess’ dress I selected one with ease. Once it was on I fell in love! I didn’t want to take it off. The lady from the shop insisted that we try lots more on different dresses and different styles, but nothing came close to dress number one! It was aptly named ‘Princess’ too, so I knew it was the
‘Katie’s cakes’ in Birmingham made our beautiful wedding cake. It was a three tiered cake the bottom tier was a vanilla sponge, the middle tier was a chocolate sponge and the top tier was a lemon sponge.
During the wedding reception we thought it might be nice to do something to break the ice between people that didn’t know each other, so we hired a magician. ‘Slightly Unusual’ were absolutely amazing! They had us and our guests completely bewildered. The guests loved them and everyone was laughing with confusion!
In the evening we had an amazing company , Premier Beats, provide us with a DJ, large love letters, starlit dance floor, uplighting and a photo booth! It looked amazing. The DJ was so good and the dance floor was full all night!
My advice would be a big dress looks beautiful but it’s far from practical! Be prepared to struggle to sit down, have no room to eat your wedding breakfast and have a wee surrounded by friends! Oh and have everyone tread on your dress and apologise several times during the day! Having said this though, I wouldn’t have changed my dress for the world it was absolutely stunning!
Huge thanks again to Danielle and Jon for choosing Sally Eaves Weddings for your big day, it was a total joy and wishing you much love for the future together.
If you loved this wedding you may also enjoy this one, and do get in touch if you are looking for a photographer for your big day, there’s nothing I like more than chatting about weddings!
