It’s been a bit quiet over here on my blog recently – but rest assured things have been super busy at Sally Eaves Weddings HQ. It’s the middle of wedding season so my life is a whirlwind of photographing beautiful couples, editing thousands of images and, just to add to all that, trying to plan my own wedding as well! Sleep is a thing of the past at the moment but I adore my job and I’m also loving being on the other side of things as a bride to be!
To break my blogging silence, I’ve got a beauty of a wedding to share with you all. Meet Olivia and Sebastian. This adorable pair held their Italian inspired wedding at Hassop Hall back in July.
Weddings at Hassop Hall
Olivia and Sebastian held their ceremony at the Church of St Mary and All Saints, Chesterfield, famous for its crooked spire. The church holds a special place in both their hearts. Not only did Seb’s Dad get married there but Olivia spent many hours in the church as a child. I love it when couples choose somewhere so personal to them to say their vows in.
After a beautiful ceremony, we set off for Hassop Hall. Set within acres of parkland this intimate venue has been in the Chapman family since the 1970s and was their home as well as playing host to hundreds of weddings. It’s now used primarily as a hotel rather than a family home but there is still such a warm, welcoming feel to it.
The couple were keen to bring Seb’s Italian heritage into their day. Hassop Hall has a lovely Meditarranean vibe while other subtle touches paid homage to Italy. Olivia had olive leaf in her bouquet and woven into her hair and they decorated the rooms with huge urns filled with flowers as well as dotting lemonade jugs around the tables. I felt like I’d been transported from Derbyshire to an Italian villa. The effect was truly magical!
Creative wedding portraits
Whilst I spend a lot of the day documenting all the fun and laughter I adore spending time alone with my couples to capture some creative portraits. Olivia looked stunning in her simple Rosa Clara dress that she’d had imported from Spain while Seb looked dashing in his bespoke Moss Bros suit. He’d had it tailored in luxury Italian cotton asanother nod to his background. I wanted to bring that Italian vibe to their photos so I made the most of the stunning gardens and rustic brick walls. I also made sure I incorporated Olivia’s beautiful, lace cathedral veil into the shots as well. It was too beautiful not to be made a feature of.
But that’s enough chatter from me, feast your eyes on the photographs from this beautiful wedding!

Bride’s Top Tips
Olivia’s top tips for weddings are:
Be in the moment, take it all in. Its such a surreal day and it goes so fast. It’s good to have some time to reflect on it, if only for a few moments before you are on to greet your next guest or pose for another photo!
