After beginning together for 7 years, David popped the big question! He had a whole speech prepared to present in front of family on Christmas Day in 2014 but only managed to nervously ask, ‘Will you marry me?’. All Sarah could do was to nod through tears of joy, alongside her mum and sister in the background sobbing through shock and happiness.
Fast forward to 2017, Sarah and David opted to have a traditional English summer wedding. Sarah felt that Cheshire in July would be perfect, and it honestly was! Sarah walked down the aisle at Norcliffe Chapel in the most beautiful strapless Maggie Sottero gown. The dress had a thin waist-fitting beaded belt, criss-cross fabric, intricate lace around the bodice and an ivory tulle overlay with nude material underneath. It was simple, classic and totally elegant. During the ceremony, Sarah wore a chapel length veil and changed into a fingertip-length veil during the reception. Underneath she also had a beaded headband for that real ‘boho bride’ vibe. Sarah held a bouquet of pink, cream sweet avalanche roses.
David and the groomsmen all wore a navy three-piece suit from Whitfield And Ward with pink ties. To stand out, David wore a brown tweed waistcoat instead. The bridesmaids all wore plain blush pink v-neck dresses with pink lace on the shoulders.
After the ceremony, the bride and groom were chauffeured in a silver Imperial Landaulette from Horgans Cars to the reception at Styal Golf Club. The reception was decorated with twinkling fairy lights around the ceiling and windows, white and pink hanging lanterns, and ivy wrapped around the beams. The chairs were wrapped in an ivory sash and the round tables had chopped wood stands holding a vase of flowers and small candles as the centrepieces. The Venue Dressing was by the very talented Emma at Planning My Special Day.
Sarah and David chose a naked a wedding cake – a cake without an outer layer of frosting. A Victoria Sponge decorated with white and chocolate dipped strawberries surrounding the outside of each layer. The cake was made by their caterers, Pink Pepper and looked so scrumptious!
The evening entertainment was a band, cleverly named, Friends Of The Bride. The band played a mix of upbeat music and had the dance floor filled all night!
I’m so happy for these two childhood sweethearts and it was such an honour to spend the day photographing their wedding and capturing the precious moments.
